Following an influx of new players during the 2022 season, in 2023 KCFC Star were, for the first time, able to form two teams at the U12 age group: KCFC Star U12 Black and KCFC Star U12 Yellow.
Consisting of girls born 2011, 2012 and 2013, including a large number who were new to the game, in the first half of the 2023 season “the Yellows” played in the SWF South West U12 7-a-side Lee Gibson (tier 2) League, before advancing in the second half of the year to the SWF South West U12 7-a-side Erin Cuthbert (tier 1) League.
Across 33 games and 88 training sessions, “the Yellows” racked up more than 1,600 minutes of game time, rattling in over one hundred goals, and creating loads of great memories along the way! And by the end of what was a great year of football, all the girls had made enormous strides in their football journey.
As the season closed, with Kilbirnie Community Football Club adopting their new identity as Kilbirnie Ladeside Girls, “the Yellows” all made their next step in their football journey: those girls born in 2011 advancing to Kilbirnie Ladeside Girls U14, those born 2012 joining Kilbirnie Ladeside Girls U12 Yellow, and those born 2013 moving to Kilbirnie Ladeside Girls U12 Black.
